Kente is a traditional weave originating from the Akan ethnic group of Ghana, West Africa. It is famous for its vibrant colors, intricate patterns and cultural significance. The fabric is woven from brightly colored strips of silk or cotton, and the patterns often have symbolic meanings related to Akan proverbs, historical events or social values.
Traditionally, Kente is associated with special occasions and is worn as ceremonial attire during events such as weddings, funerals and festivals. Different patterns and color combinations may have specific meanings, reflecting the identity, status or nature of the event of the wearer.
