Artist’s Description: Dikeledi is a female name of Setswana/Sesotho origin meaning tears. The name is normally used only for girls in this tribe, but can also be used to name boys in other tribes where the word has the same translation. When your body transforms as a result of a traumatic event it causes a disruption of energy in our physical body which in turn influences the flow of life in synchronicity with nature.
Dikeledi is a representation of what we experience throughout our history, sometimes tragic but endlessly fascinating. The visual presentation looks to the future by opening a conscious dialogue and addressing visible and invisible historical events. We can follow history, but we cannot change it.
