This collection of love letters, created by Khumo Ramaila, one of Tsikane’s visual artists, tackles subjects that are often too uncomfortable to discuss. It stems from the idea of bringing situations that would normally be considered negative to the forefront, transforming them into something visually beautiful. It is not meant to suggest that bad is good, but rather that by making these situations more appealing to the eye, perhaps they become more accessible for dialogue. The central goal of this collection is to illuminate and give voice to those issues we often avoid out of discomfort.
