Artist’s note: The true beginning of knowledge lies in understanding the self as something beyond the body and its culture. If one does not know one’s self, one’s soul, whatever one acquires will be merely superficial information.

Seeking wisdom can be overwhelming without a deep understanding of the self; one can get caught in a sea of data without discerning its true value. Therefore, understanding the self is the essential first step on the path to true knowledge.
