Artist’s Description: Dikeledi is a Setswana/Sesotho language origin which means tears. The name is normally used only for girls in Setswana/Sesotho clan but also it’s not gender based since it can be used to name boys in other clans due to its mutual translation of tears with other clans. When your body is disrupted as a result of traumatic event, an emotion like stress, depression, pain or whatever it is. Cause an energy disruption in our physical body so our energy does not flow the way it should naturally. That causes sadness type flow of life in sync with nature and rhythms that come with life.

Dikeledi is a depiction that we suffered through our rich sometimes tragic but yet endlessly fascinating history. We leaving in someone else’s world view so you can’t help but look at stuff that way. Why? Because, what are the other ways to look at it? That is what we actually face on consistent level and most of the decisions we make are based on that. The visual presentation is forward-looking and opens up a conscious dialogue and deals with seen and unseen historical events. We can follow history but we can’t change it.
